Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical first-person shooter (FPS) developed and published by Ubisoft Montreal. A competitive game consists of two teams of five players with unique characters, referred to in-game as operators, that battle to attack or defend two bombsites.

The Rainbow Six: Siege Invitational is the pinnacle of the R6 esports calendar where the 16 best teams in the world battle to be crowned World Champion. The tournament is hosted by game publisher Ubisoft at their studio located in Montreal.

The trophy for the Six Invitational is a sledgehammer representing an iconic tool used by a Rainbow Six: Siege operator that goes by the same name.

The prize pool for the Six Invitational 2020 is $3,000,000 with the champions set to take home $1,000,000.

What is the format for the Six Invitational?

The group stage of the Six invitational will be played in four groups of four teams taking place offline starting on February 7th to February 9th. All matches will be played in a best-of-three (Bo3) double elimination bracket with the top 2 in the group advancing to the playoffs.

The playoffs will be played offline between February 11th to February 12th with the last two days of the playoffs and finals played at the Montreal venue on February 14th to February 16th. Teams will be placed in single elimination bracket played as Bo3 matches with the Grand Final played as a best-of-five (Bo5).

Who won the Six Invitational 2019?

At the Six Invitational 2019, fan favourites G2 Esports lifted the trophy as World Champions beating Team Empire. G2 went 9-1 throughout the tournament only losing one match in a best-of-three in the quarterfinals to Spacestation.
