Explore our League of Legends weekly betting preview for the LCK and LPL. Dive into Pinnacle's odds, expert predictions, and top esports insights to stay ahead of the game.

What’s Happening in LCK This Week?

The LCK standings are beginning to solidify, leaving little room for major changes at this stage. However, several matches from last week deserve highlighting.

Gen.G vs T1 (May 18)

Despite T1 showing moments of advantage, they were ultimately swept 2-0 by Gen.G. Mid laner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon showcased exceptional Azir play, consistently finding engage opportunities. This loss ended T1’s five-match win streak, leaving them at #3 (9-5).

Gen.G vs HLE (May 21)

HLE, ranked #2, was viewed as the only team capable of challenging Gen.G’s flawless run. While they pushed the series to Game 3, they fell short of victory. Chovy’s Azir in Game 1 was particularly dominant, securing a pentakill and finishing with a 13/2/7 KDA. With 1,000 POM points after earning Player of the Match honors against both T1 and HLE, Chovy has cemented Gen.G’s absolute LCK dominance (15-0 match score, 15-win streak).

HLE’s Unexpected Loss

HLE suffered an upset against KT Rolster (KT) earlier in the week, despite entering as heavy favorites (ML –833). Fortunately, this loss had minimal impact on their #2 standing (12-3).

Upcoming Match: T1 vs BNK FearX (May 22)

BNK FearX’s young ADC, Nam "Diable" Dae-geun, leads all LCK AD Carries in damage share %—a stat that reflects either his exceptional carry potential or his team’s reliance on him. T1 is heavily favored (ML –413*), but for better value, consider T1 Handicap –1.5 (–131)*.

Upcoming Highlight Matches:

  • May 22: T1 (-413*) vs. BFX (+291*)
  • May 23: NS vs. KT
  • May 24: HLE vs. DK

What’s Happening in LPL This Week?

The LPL's Rumble Stage concluded with unexpected turbulence as no team aside from JD Gaming (JDG) established consistent dominance. JDG emerged as the league's hottest squad, riding a five-match winning streak where all victories came via clean sweeps - including impressive takedowns of top contenders Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and Anyone's Legend (AL). Their resurgence has been fueled by the remarkable stabilization of top laner Hu "Ale" Jiale, whose 10/2/8 KDA Jax performance against BLG earned him Player of the Game honors and silenced doubts about his consistency. JDG secured the #3 seed with a 12-6 record, edging out BLG on tiebreakers.

BLG's own six-match win streak was snapped by JDG on May 17, but they responded strongly by clean sweeping league leaders Top Esports (TES). BLG was led by Chen "Bin" Zebin's impactful Ornn plays before closing their stage with a victory over Invictus Gaming (IG) to lock in the #4 seed at 12-6.

The final standings saw TES (15-3) and AL (13-5) maintain their #1 and #2 positions despite late-stage stumbles, with all four top teams advancing directly to the Knockout Stage. IG's five-match win streak was halted by BLG, leaving them at #5 (10-8) and bound for the Knights' Rival.

Meanwhile, Weibo Gaming (WBG) finally ended their six-match losing streak ahead of their Rumble Stage finale against Team WE on May 22, where they enter as –172* Money Line favorites. The LPL now turns to the Knights' Rival from May 24-27, where four of eight teams will earn Knockout Stage berths ahead of the main bracket running from May 31 through June 14.
