What’s Happening in LCK This Week?

Last week, T1 reinstated AD Carry Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyung to their starting lineup against Dplus KIA (DK). Despite entering as underdogs (+111 ML), T1 defeated DK 2-1, fueled by jungler Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun's dominant Lillia performance in Game 3, which earned him Player of the Match (POM).

However, just as fans believed T1 had regained form, they suffered an unexpected loss to OKSavingsBank Brion (BRO), one of the LCK's bottom-tier teams. T1 now sits at #5 in the standings with a 4-4 record.

Dplus KIA (DK) endured a 3-match losing streak this week, dropping them from #2 to #4 (5-4). Meanwhile, Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) and Gen.G extended their winning runs. Gen.G remains undefeated (8-0), with mid laner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon boasting a flawless 129 KDA over his last 8 matches (only 1 death).

HLE’s top laner Choi "Zeus" Woo-je continues his dominance, losing just once in his last 14 games. He humbly admitted struggling against DK’s rising star, Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo, in their three-match duel.

Nongshim RedForce (NS) surged this week with a 3-match winning streak, including a win over DK, claiming #3 in the standings (6-3). Rookie mid laner Seon "Calix" Hyeon-bin impressed with a 5.6 KDA, 428 GPM (2nd among LCK mids behind Chovy), and a league-leading 4.8 average kills.

Upcoming Highlight Matches:

  • May 2: HLE (#2) vs. NS (#3)
  • May 3: Gen.G (#1) vs. DK (#4)

What’s Happening in LPL This Week?

Top Esports (TES) finished Round 1 of the Rumble Stage firmly atop the LPL standings with an 8-1 record. Their consistent dominance has made them the team to beat heading into the final matches.

Anyone’s Legend (AL) sits close behind at 7-2, though their momentum was interrupted by a surprising 0-2 sweep against JD Gaming. This loss revealed potential vulnerabilities in AL’s otherwise stellar performance this split.

JD Gaming (JDG) has defied expectations by maintaining strong form (6-4 record) despite the departure of coach Kim "cvMax." Their near-victory against TES proved they remain championship contenders, currently holding third place.

Weibo Gaming (WBG) has surged back with a 3-match winning streak after an early stumble against Team WE. Key victories over Invictus Gaming (twice) and Bilibili Gaming have pushed them to 6-4, though they trail JDG in fourth due to tiebreakers.

Bilibili Gaming (BLG), last year’s Worlds runner-up, is struggling at 4-5 (sixth place). Back-to-back losses to FunPlus Phoenix and WBG have sparked internal issues, including rumors of replacing jungler Yan "Wei" Yangwei with ThunderTalk Gaming’s Yang "Beichuan" Ling.

Upcoming Highlight Matches:

  • May 1: AL vs. IG
  • May 2: BLG vs. WBG
  • May 3: IG vs. TES
  • May 4: AL vs. TES
  • May 7: AL vs. BLG
