League of Legends Weekly Best Bets: LCK and LPL Week 4

This week, the LPL returns after the Lunar New Year holiday, and the LCK Cup kicks off its Play-Ins.

LCK: DRX (-141*) vs. DN Freecs (+116*) best bets – February 7, 2025

Last time DRX faced DN Freecs (Freecs), it pulled off a 2-1 upset, with DRX’s Money Line priced at +219. This time, based on recent performances, DRX has become the favorite in the odds. Its stand-in AD Carry, Trần "LazyFeel" Bảo Minh, impressed with 10.2 CS per minute in that series. Notably, he is the only non-Korean player in the LCK, hailing from Vietnam.

Park "Teddy" Jin-seong returned as DRX’s starting AD Carry in its last match against Hanwha Life Esports (HLE). However, his comeback did not go well, as DRX suffered a 0-2 loss. This raises uncertainty about who will start as AD Carry in the upcoming matchup.

On the other hand, DN Freecs is struggling with a four-match losing streak. The team’s current form has not been strong enough to take a single game off top teams like Gen.G and Dplus KIA (DK). With just one win against Nongshim RedForce (NS), it is on the brink of missing the Play-Ins. Desperate for a victory, Freecs will be looking for revenge against DRX in this matchup.

LPL: Weibo (+134*) vs. JD Gaming (-164*) best bets – February 9, 2025

This week in the LPL, Weibo Gaming (WBG) faces JD Gaming (JDG) in a highly anticipated matchup. Both teams are currently 2-0 in their group and have already secured a spot in the Playoffs. However, the winner of this match will claim the top spot in the group and earn a direct ticket to the upper bracket of the Playoffs.

Despite their identical match records, WBG holds a higher game win rate at 86%, compared to JDG’s 75%. WBG also boasts an average gold lead of 1,900 at 15 minutes, with an 83.3% win rate when ahead at that mark. On the other hand, JDG averages only a 510 gold lead at 15 minutes but has impressively converted every early lead into victory with a 100% win rate.

Both teams excel at building early-game advantages and snowballing them to victory, making the first 15 minutes of each game crucial. However, JDG’s weaker early objective control —holding just a 37.5% first tower rate and a 62.5% first blood rate compared to WBG’s 71.4% in both stats — could be a concern for the team’s early-game momentum.

JDG’s star-studded lineup, featuring two Korean players, has yet to deliver the dominant performances expected. Its narrow 3-2 victory over Oh My God (OMG) in a full five-game series raised some concerns. Korean AD Carry Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan, in his debut LPL season, has solid KDA and kill participation stats but has yet to replicate the dominance he showed last year in the LCK.

Meanwhile, WBG made a key signing in star Jungler Gao "Tian" Tianliang, who leads his team with a 72.6% kill participation rate. In a jungle-centric meta where resource control is critical, “Tian”’s aggressive early-game playstyle could give WBG a crucial edge in securing early leads.

Best bets: Weibo Money Line (+134*) and Total Maps Over 4.5 (+171*)
