The final Grand Slam of the year gets underway next week as the great and the good of the tennis world head to New York for the US Open.
Daniil Medvedev won last year's tournament, beating Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to claim his only Grand Slam title to date.
Djokovic is unlikely to play this year, but Medvedev is back to try and defend his title and go one better than January's Australian Open, where he went down in the final in five sets to Rafael Nadal.

Who will win the ATP US Open 2022: Medvedev in mixed form
Medvedev's win last year was the culmination of years of progress for the Russian, having lost the US Open final in 2019 and the Australian Open final in 2021.
He heads to New York in mixed form; he won the Los Cabos Open in early August, beating Cameron Norrie 7-5 6-0 in the final, but then lost to Nick Kyrgios in the round of 32 at the Canadian Open in Montreal.
Most recently, Medvedev reached the semi-finals in Cincinnati, going down to Stefanos Tsitsipas.
All but one of the 26-year-old's 14 career titles have come on hard courts and, despite his inconsistent form, he looks set to be a contender at 3.700*.
US Open 2022 ATP Men’s Singles predictions: Nadal hoping three is the magic number
After winning both the Australian and French Opens in 2022, Rafael Nadal's push for the calendar Grand Slam ended when he was forced to withdraw before his Wimbledon semi-final due to an abdominal injury.
Nadal has only played once since Wimbledon but has succeeded in the past with little preparation time.
Nadal has played just once since dropping out at Wimbledon, losing to eventual champion Borna Coric in the round of 32 in Cincinnati. However, he has previously succeeded when going into tournaments without much preparation.
Alcaraz has struggled on the hard courts this summer but made the quarter-finals last year on his debut at the US Open and also won the Miami Open in April.
US Open 2022 ATP Men’s Singles futures: Tsitsipas set for his breakthrough?
After beating Medvedev, Tsitsipas went on to lose the final in Cincinnati to Coric but that was still an encouraging result for a player more renowned for his exploits on clay.
He was previously knocked out at the round of 32 in Montreal and needs to improve his record in New York, with his best showing being a third-round exit in 2021.
Tsitsipas' fierce rival Kyrgios is priced at 8.210* to win the tournament and will be desperate for more exposure on the big stage after reaching the final at Wimbledon, having beaten the Greek in a fiery third-round match.
The Australian bounced back from his Wimbledon heartache by winning the Citi Open in Washington and also reaching the quarter-finals in Montreal.
US Open 2022 ATP Men’s Singles predictions: Hope for a home winner?
There hasn't been a home winner of the Men's Singles at the US Open since Andy Roddick's victory in 2003.
Taylor Fritz is the best-placed home player in the betting at 17.240* and is in good form after reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, while Jenson Brooksby is priced at 65.410*. Brooksby has made but lost two finals this year, going down in Dallas and Atlanta.
There is also a notable Canadian hopeful in Felix Auger-Aliassime, priced at 17.320*. Auger-Aliassime won the junior tournament in New York in 2016 and reached the semi-finals at last year's US Open.
