Neither Pinnacle nor The People got off to the greatest of starts in week one. The people enjoyed a slightly better start thanks to predicting 2-1 in the Manchester United vs. Chelsea game – with closing odds of 9.500. In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would be down €10, while the people would also have lost €10.
Week 2 Both Pinnacle and the people showed signs of improvement in week two getting closer to the correct prediction, but still never made a profit as Manchester City drew 2-2 with Tottenham. In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would be down €20, while the people would also have lost €20 so far also.
Week three was a good week for the people as they correctly predicted Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal. While Pinnacle made a credible prediction with 2-1, it was the people who made the first profit of the season at closing odds of 11.50. Week 4 Pinnacle managed to predict the correct result in week 4 but not the correct score as Arsenal and Tottenham drew 2-2 in the North London Derby. The people came closer with their prediction of 1-2, but in terms of betting performance, both would have lost €10. Both Pinnacle and our followers were way off with their predictions in week 5 as Chelsea ran out comfortable winners away at Wolves by five goals to two (2-5). In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would be down -€50, while the people would have made a profit of +€65 so far this season
In week 6, both Pinnacle and the People were off in their predictions as unbeaten Liverpool travelled to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. The match ended 1-2 in Jurgen Klopp's sides favour, meaning there was no profit for either of us in week 6. Pinnacle would now be down -€60, while the people would have made a profit of +€55 so far this season.
Manchester United and Arsenal have one of the fiercest rivalries in soccer, and game week 7 saw the two sides meet for the first time this Premier League season. Pinnacle finally managed to make their first profit of the season at closing odds of 7.25. This made the overall profit and loss for the season so far sit at Pinnacle +€32.25, the people +€45.
In week 8, Matty Longstaff's first ever Premier League goal gave Newcastle victory over Manchester United. In a tight match, neither Pinnacle or the People could pick up any profit despite going close with their predictions. In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would now be up +€22.25, while the people would have a profit of +€35.
There were no correct predictions in week 9 as Bernard & Sigurdsson led Everton to a 2-0 win against West Ham. In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would now be up +€12.25, while the people would have a profit of +€25.
There were no winners again in week 10 as Liverpool came from behind to beat Tottenham thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson and Mo Salah. Pinnacle would now be up +€2.25, while the people would have made a profit of +€15.
Everton hosted Tottenham in week 11 and Pinnacle managed to make their second profit of the season at closing odds of 7.50. This made the overall profit and loss for the season so far sit at Pinnacle +€77.25, the people +€5.00.
In week 12, Jame Vardy piled the pressure on Arsenal boss Unai Emery as the Leicester striker continued his fine goalscoring run against the Gunners. The people came close to a correct predciton but with Arsenal failing to find the net it ended up costing them. In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would now be up +€67.25, while the people would be down -€5.00.
The Premier League returned from the international break and with it saw Jose Mourinho’s first match in charge of Tottenham. Their first away win of the season wasn’t able to get any correct predictions on the board and left the betting performance as followers: Pinnacle +€57.25 and the people sitting on -€15.00.
Another week, another manager. Week 14 saw newly appointed manager, Freddie Ljungberg, and Arsenal travel to Carrow Road and take on Norwich City. A brace by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped the Gunners come from behind twice to secure a draw. Again, no correct score predictions and that leaves Pinnacle with +€47.25 and the people on -€25.00
Jose Mourihno’s return to Old Trafford did not bring with it any returns to both sides, as a Marcus Rashford double strike gave the Reds all three points against Spurs in the Premier League. This made the overall profit and loss for the season so far Pinnacle +€37.25, the people -€35.00.
Manchester United continue their winning ways with a 2-1 win in the Manchester derby to spoil City’s title hopes and both correct score predictions, thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. Pinnacle would now be up +€27.25, while the people would be down -€45.00.
There were no correct score predictions with Pinnacle’s prediction coming the closest. Kevin De Bruyne produced a master-class performance to lead City to a 3-0 win at the Emirates Stadium in Pep Guardiola’s 200th game in charge of the club. Pinnacle +€17.25 and the people sitting on -€55.00.
Chelsea secured an away victory behind Willian’s two goals from two shots. Sadly, the same results as Pinnacle is on €7.25, whereas the people are down -€65.00.
The Premier League returns from the New Year break. Will the New Year bring new success for our predictions? Both predictions were off again as Roberto Firmino’s strike sees Liverpool to a 1-0 away win, extending their lead to 16 points at the top of the table. The no correct score prediction streak also keeps extending, with Pinnacle now in the negative, -€2.75 and the people with -€75.00.
Goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah were enough to give the Reds all three Premier League points against Manchester United and extend Liverpool’s unbeaten run. In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would be down -€12.75, while the people are on -€85.00.
League-leaders Liverpool travels to Molineux, where goals from Jordan Henderson and Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool the victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League. No correct scores mean Pinnacle is now at -€22.75 whilst the people are at -€95.00.
After being out-played for most of the match, a missed penalty, a red card, and goals from Steven Bergwijn and Son Heung-min allowed for Tottenham to secure victory despite only creating 0.38 xG. In terms of betting performance, Pinnacle would be down -€32.75, while the people are on -€105.00.
We gave the people more power this week and let them choose the highlighted fixture - and did they choose a good one! Unfortunately, no correct score predictions again as the Blades were able to secure all three points at the death.
