Juventus vs. Inter Milan predicted line-ups

Juventus predicted line-up

4-3-3 – Szczesny (GK), Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro, Matuidi, Betancur, Pjanic, Dybala, Ronaldo, Mandzukic

Alex Sandro missed the last game against Fiorentina with a muscle problem but should be fit. Should he fail a fitness test, Mattia De Sciglio is ready to step in at full back once more. Federico Bernardeschi is fit and again and ready for selection along with Emre Can.

Juventus are expected to revert back to a 4-3-3 with Miralem Pjanic returning to orchestrate the midfield. Rodrigo Betancur is a yellow card away from suspension.

Inter Milan predicted line-up

4-2-3-1 – Handanovic (GK), D’Ambrosio, de Vrij, Skriniar, Asamoah, Brozovic, Vecino, Balde, Valero, Perisic, Icardi

Brazllian left-back Dalbert and Belgian attacking midfielder Radja Naninggolan remain the only injury concerns in an otherwise fully fit Inter team. Spalletti switched to a 4-3-3 last time out against Roma, but may well revert back to their traditional 4-2-3-1 formation where competition for places is fierce.

Keita Balde scored for the second successive Serie A fixture which should see him retain his place ahead of Marco Politano whilst Danilo D’Ambrosio, who provided the assist for Balde’s goal, should also see him keep his place ahead of Sime Vrsalkjo.

Once pivotal defender Miranda has lost his place at the back due to the partnership of De Vrij and Skriniar whilst Joao Mario could also struggle to retain his place in the team should Spalletti odd for a central midfield paring instead of a trio.

Two of Italy’s biggest teams come together in the Derby d’Italia as runaway leaders Juventus welcome second placed Inter Milan to Turin in what is usually a very compelling fixture.

The last meeting between the two sides was an enthralling 3-2 away victory to Juventus in which Inter were reduced to 10 men after 18 minutes and a goal down, went 2-1 up in the second half before conceding and 87th minute own goal and an 89th minute winner courtesy of Gonzalo Higuain.

Friday’s fixture may not live up to that last game, but it will see Italy best two teams on form face in each other in what will hopefully be another competitive contest.

The Old Lady however, are in tremendous form after their best ever start to a league season.

Juve may well face their biggest challenge in Serie A thus far.

They have a near perfect record, with the 1-1 home draw the only blemish on their otherwise incredible season thus far.

Juve have an 11-point lead at the top already over their closest domestic rivals Inter and Napoli, have scored the most goals (31) and conceded the fewest (8) and boast the league’s top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo who has 10 goals and five assists in 14 games.

After CR7’s somewhat slow start to life in Italy with two goals from his opening seven games, Ronaldo has evidently settled to life in Italy, with seven goals in his last seven games.

So good has Juventus’ start has been, they have outperformed their xG and xGA by scoring three goals and conceding two less than forecasted – this however could be a source of positivity for Inter.

By the law of averages, Juve’s luck offensively and defensively should catch up to them eventually and Inter will be hoping it will be on Friday.

The Nerazzurri themselves however have also outperformed their xG and xGA - even more so then Juventus! (Scoring four more and conceding four less than predicted).

Mauro Icardi yet again has been a pivotal figure for the Milanese club, scoring eight goals in his last seven games, and when it comes to playing Juventus, Icardi’s record is just as impressive.

Inter’s Argentine captain has eight goals and two assists in 11 appearances against Juventus in Serie A (five with Inter and three with Sampdoria) nevertheless, he does only have one goal for Inter away to Juventus.

Going to Allianz Stadium with Juventus in this kind of form is a tough ask for anyone as things stand, but if there are any teams who could be considered a realistic challenger to take something from this game, Inter Milan are certainly one of them.

With abit of luck, the continued clinical finishing and resolute defending that has seen Inter into second place, Juve may well face their biggest challenge in Serie A thus far.
