Fiorentina predicted lineup

4-3-3 – Lafont (GK), Laurini, Milenkovic, Hugo, Biraghi, Benassi, Veretout, Fernandes, Chiesa, Muriel, Gerson

Centre back German Pezzella and winger Kevin remain side-lined with knee and leg injuries respectively. Federico Ceccherini remains locked in a a battle with Vincent Laurini for the right back spot, whilst Giovanni Simeone will be hoping his goal last week will help him start up front instead of Luis Muriel.

Inter Milan predicted lineup

4-2-3-1 – Handanovic (GK), D’ambrosio, de Vrij, Skriniar, Dalbert, Gagliardini, Brozovic, Politano, Nainggolan, Perisic, Martinez

Sime Vrsaljko remains the only injury absentee after being ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. With controversy surrounding the future of Mauro Icardi still dominating the news in Milan, understudy Lautaro Martinez is expected to keep his place up front unless the matter gets resolved.

Antonio Candreva and Joao Mario will be battling to make the starting 11 after making cameo appearances last time out against Sampdoria.

Sunday’s encounter in Florence pits two sides chasing continental qualification in two separate league battles.

Fiorentina are in a six-way tussle for a Europa League spot, whilst Inter Milan face pressure from arch rivals AC Milan for an automatic spot in next season’s Champions League group stage.

Draw specialists Fiorentina have tied more games this season (11) than they did in the entirety of last season (nine), with 14 games still to play this campaign.

Remarkably, La Viola have the sixth best attack and sixth best defence in the league – losing one less game than opponents Inter with five losses so far this season.

Having to rely on central midfielder Marco Benassi as their top scorer with seven goals, due to the misfiring Giovani Simeone, may have contributed to the amount of draws Fiorentina have accumulated this season. However, the signing of Sevilla striker and former Sampdoria player Luis Muriel on loan has eased the burden on Benassi.

Muriel has scored three goals in five appearances since joining, with Simeone finding the net last time out against SPAL to record his fifth league goal of the season, after not scoring in his last seven games.

Inter meanwhile are dealing with striker issues of their own, with their talisman and top scorer Mauro Icardi being stripped of the captain’s armband amid ongoing contractual disputes with the club resulting in him losing his place in the team.

That being said, Icardi is without a goal in his last seven league games and looks unlikely to get the chance to break the streak on Sunday, with Lautaro Martinez expected to keep his place up front despite scoring just four goals in 17 appearances for Inter in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri had to rely on goals from right back Danilo D’ambrosio and midfielder Radja Nainggolan to see them through against Sampdoria last time out, the first time they had scored more than two league goals in a game since December 2.

Draw specialists Fiorentina have tied more games this season (11) than they did in the entirety of last season (nine)

Inter’s problems up front will be made tougher on Sunday when they come up against the impressive young Albin Lafont between the sticks, as the 20 year old has been in impressive form in his debut season since signing from Toulouse in the summer, and is perhaps why many of Fiorentina’s draws this season have not been losses instead.

Both teams come into the game in relatively good form, in what is sure to be a compelling contest between two sides still trying to figure out their best attacking lineup that should make for a great game.

Fiorentina vs. Inter Milan: Where is the value?

Presently, the odds appear to favour a low–scoring contest on Sunday, and giving the attacking deficiencies both clubs have suffered this season, bettors may choose to back this option.

However, given the recent goal scoring history between the two sides, bettors may opt to back this trend and can find value in over 2.75 goals at 2.360*

After finally breaking their streak of scoring under 1.5 goals in a game last week, bettors may choose to back Inter in doing the same again this weekend, with over 1.5 Inter goals currently priced at 2.430*.

Alternatively, value could be found in the Handicap market, with bettors choosing to back Inter to continue their good form against Fiorentina, with Inter -0.25 priced currently at 2.150*.
