System Overview

PDSI’s ComputeNode1U (Node1U) is a powerful CompactPCI® solution developed for the embedded control and communications marketplace. The Node1U is a robust Dual Feed DC, two-slot cPCI server in a 1U form factor (1.75” high), and may be densely packed into any new design or existing rack.

This unit features PDSI’s compact horizontal design, containing a two-slot cPCI backplane for use with both front and rear transition cards. It includes dual DC feeds, a system alarm card and a front removable air filter. The bezel covering the front air filter is available for customization.

The Node1U contains an integral system alarm card that is designed to communicate with a cPCI card’s BMC (Base Board Management Controller) over I2C. The alarm card monitors the status of the fans, power supply input and output voltages. It also provides LEDs for visual alarming and dry contact closure. The alarm card is integrated into the chassis and does not occupy either cPCI slot.

PDSI's Node1U enables network equipment providers inexpensive solutions with extremely high levels of availability, incrementally growing products while retaining an open system designed for rapid expandability.

As with all PDSI products, the Node1U combines expert Rapid Product Realization design, branding and testing services for a complete SKU, utilizing customer-specified third party components or Commercial off-the-shelf products (COTS), greatly reducing time to market.
