System Overview

PDSi’s ComputeNode is an entry-level, low price, two-slot CompactPCI® singleprocessor server measuring 1U (1.75" high), and may be densely packed into any new design or existing rack. The small form factor offers horizontal scalability with front and rear accessible I/O for easy service and maintenance.

The ComputeNode makes an ideal cPCI computing product for IP-intensive networks. The fully implemented “out-of-thebox” ComputeNode may be deployed as a dedicated platform for infrastructure services such as DNS, firewalls, log processing and uthentication, as well as Web hosting applications.

Using the latest high performance, high availability cPCI solutions such as Sun’s CP20X0 series, or Intel’s ZT55XX series, the ComputeNode is designed for embedded computing and provides high performance compute power in a single slot. With industry standard high I/O bandwidth, PDSi’s ComputeNode supports clustering for high availability and a wide range of applications in a low cost system.

As with all PDSi products, ComputeNode combines expert Rapid Product Realization design, branding and testing services for a complete SKU, utilizing customer-specified third party components or Commercial off-the-shelf products (COTS), greatly reducing time to market.
